Fort Amherst Heritage Trust are seeking a recent graduate to develop and take forward their Business Plan. The Business Plan will encompass the commercial opportunities presented by the Great Lines Heritage Park, respect the Trust’s currently limited resources and capacity, as well as its charitable objectives, and explore options for developing its core function of restoration and maintenance. The completed Business Plan will be presented to, and approved by, the Board of Trustees. Support and information will be provided by staff and Trustees of Fort Amherst, as well as Medway Council. Occasional support from an Independent Business Advisor will be available.

The successful applicant will be required to adopt a flexible working pattern, including occasional evenings and weekends, to reflect the availability of Trustees. For operational matters, the postholder will report to the Chatham World Heritage manager at Medway Council, and for strategic matters to the Chair of FAHT. Due to restrictions linked to the funding for this position, the successful graduate must have studied at a Medway University, or be resident in Medway. The position is a 20 hour a week, 16 week contract, for which a fixed bursary payment of £2,000 will be made.
