Chatham World Heritage Partnership Fund
Chatham World Heritage has been delighted to offer funds to a variety of small projects which support the aims of the World Heritage Site bid, and in particular, which help people to use the Great Lines Heritage Park. Projects funded between 2008-2010 include:
- £100 and free venue hire at Fort Amherst, for a free public exhibition, awarded to the Gillingham Adult Education Mixed Media Art Class on the theme of Chatham’s heritage “Through our Eyes“
- £420 to the Brompton Village Association for the design and supply of a village notice board, and the creation of www.bromptonvillage.co.uk
- £990 to Fairbridge in Kent, for a four day “Chatham Teen Time Team” project, working with youths to explore the roles young people have played in the dockyard’s history.
- £750 to the Friends of the Admiral’s Gardens for the creation of a website, production of a leaflet and venue hire for their meetings.
- £154 to the Gillingham Air Cadets to increase sporting usage of the Great Lines Heritage Park.
- £228 to Fairbridge in Kent to assist with a cycle proficiency scheme at the Great Lines Heritage Park for local teenagers.
- £450 to Chatham Historic Dockyard Trust to offer free ‘Heart of World Heritage’ tours to residents.
- £480 to All Saints Sure Start Centre’s Funky Feet walking group to help parent and toddler groups make full use of the Great Lines Heritage Park.
- £500 to local artist Jane Pitt for a birdlife acoustic project involving local residents.
